What Is a Part 107 Pilot?

A part 107 drone license allows you to legally make money with your drone. It allows you to sell your aerial photos and videos. The FAA makes it very clear that you must be certified if you are doing ANY commercial work. 

Why do I need to hire a 107 Pilot for Real Estate?

 If you are in any way making money off of drone content, you need to be certified. The goal of the Part 107 is to ensure that people who are flying drones for business are doing so with an educated background of drone (UAV) and airspace safety.

What is Commercial Work?

 If you are in any way making money off of drone content, you need to be certified. This includes photos for marketing Real Estate. A pilot who is unlicensed, the fine is $1,100 per occurrence/flight where imagery is used commercially. The fine for the the real estate agent who hires an unlicensed pilot is $11,000. If you’re an agent who bought a drone and took the photos or video yourself, you will be liable for both fines.
